Throughout the UK many working mothers face a daily hectic schedule of running a home and caring for their family whilst holding down a full time job. Indeed many are fortunate to build high flying careers outside of the home and appear to manage the 'work life juggling challenge' with ease. However, a growing number of mothers would prefer to spend more time with their family and, in order to achieve this, many view working from home as the most practical option to earn an income.

Why the customer service industry should employ the over 50s In today's fast paced work environment age and maturity is often undervalued; yet it is a common belief that many UK companies could benefit greatly from employing people with a more mature approach to handling customer enquiries. When customers feel their enquiry is being handled by a knowledgeable person or when they simply receive good 'old fashioned customer service', they tend to respond more positively and are more likely to buy from the company. |

Helping disabled people to work - enabling people with disabilities to work
Whether due to physical limitations or mobility issues, for many disabled people working from home may be the most practical option to earn an income. However this should not mean they have to accept inferior levels of work commonly associated with many home working initiatives. Disabled people have so much more to offer industry and commerce than simply stuffing envelopes or performing other such un-skilled tasks.

Escaping the daily commute by working from home - why don't we do it more? In these times of rising fuel prices and the need to reduce our carbon footprint, the idea of working from home is an attractive proposition for many employees. Apart from avoiding the daily commute and reducing congestion on our crowded roads, the time that would have otherwise being spent travelling to the office can be used more productively; which in turn can improve the work life balance. |

In recent years many companies in the UK have outsourced their customer contact services to call centres overseas. This has mostly been to reduce overheads and to take advantage of lower staffing costs abroad. However, for many businesses, these off shoring experiments have been a bad experience, as they have seen a rise in complaints from customers relating to a lack of quality customer care. |
